Reopening Of Florida Ports Should Bring Extra Gasoline To The State

Port Everglades is open once again. And, along with the opening of Port Tampa Bay, the two will increase the flow of fuel into the state.

GasBuddy.com reports that, after Hurricane Irma, a number of stations are still out of gas, ranging from 38 percent in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area, to 46 percent in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market.

Irma is not expected to impact pump prices like Hurricane Harvey, which shut down refineries and interrupted pipelines.

The current statewide average is $2.72 a gallon, up by 46 cents from a month ago.
