Florida Duo Charged For Stealing $5K Of Downed Power Lines

A Florida man and woman were arrested Saturday after authorities say they tried to steal nearly $5,000 worth of power lines that had been knocked down during Hurricane Irma.

Altamonte Springs residents 41-year-old Charles Mahoy and 45-year-old Andrea Foster are now facing charges of larceny during a state of emergency, criminal mischief and drug possession.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office says a man had called to report two people cutting downed power lines. 

Deputies responded and found the power lines in the back of the duo’s truck. Deputies also found marijuana and methamphetamine in their car, according to an arrest report.
