Taylor Swift Teases Self-Directed Music Video For 'The Man'

Taylor Swift’s “The Man” is getting the music video treatment!

The singer-songwriter announced the video for her newest single will be arriving Thursday (February 27), and teased the big reveal with a mysterious graphic with the cryptic caption, “There are 19 hands in the hallway… but only 2 days until The Man Music Video.”

In addition, Swift took to Twitter early this morning with the very first preview of the video, helmed by the pop star herself, which shows a businessman looking out on the city. What’s more, Swift revealed she’ll be “chatting/answering your questions/mansplaining the video on YouTube starting an hour before at 6 A.M. EST.”

It’s anyone’s guess what the “19 hands” could represent and how much it will influence the direction of the visual for her empowering feminist anthem, yet Swifties are excited about its arrival all the same. “All these hands just slapped me in the face and told me i’m stupid,” one user quipped, as another emphatically added, “THANK GOD THERE IS AN OFFICIAL VIDEO.”

As Swifties know, “The Man” is the fourth official single from her seventh studio album, Lover. The music video announcement comes just weeks after the Cats actress unveiled the video for her live acoustic performance of the song at her “City of Lover” concert in Paris.
