Legislation aimed at preventing government investment strategies that consider “environmental, social and governance” standards signed by Governor Ron DeSantis.
House Bill 3 codifies into law the fiduciary obligation is to produce the best returns possible, not to be diverted by pursuing ideological agendas as it relates to investments of state money, the retirement system and public funds.
Opponents say the move will hinder investment decision-making.
