A Florida mother is facing several charges after police claim she broke into a neighbor's home while naked and left her young children unsupervised. Lake City police officers arrested 24-year-old Haley Ann Nicole Blunt on several charges following an incident on May 1, according to a news release.

Authorities responded to a home on Northwest Huntsboro Street on reports of a burglary in progress. The homeowner told officers they heard someone knocking on their front and back sliding doors. The victim asked who was there during both instances and they never got a response.

Police accused Blunt of breaking a window near the front door and entering the home while the victim was on the phone with 911 dispatchers. The homeowner managed to leave the resident to meet with responding officers. Officials claim they saw the mother “nude and bleeding from injuries she sustained" from breaking into the home.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital before being booked into the Columbia County Detention Center, Lake City police wrote.

Investigators learned Blunt lived nearby and left her two young children alone and without supervision during the burglary. Police confirmed the kids were found safe inside Blunt's home and turned over to a family member.

The 24-year-old mother was charged with burglary of an occupied structure, child neglect, and criminal mischief.
