Ye finally shut down his X account after he went on an explicit posting spree for three days straight.
On Sunday, February 9, the artist formerly known as Kanye West decided to log off and deactivate his account after he posted a series of offensive messages over the weekend. He started his tirade on Elon Musk's social networking website on Friday by advocating for Sean "Diddy" Combs' freedom. He continued to degrade the Jewish community by reiterating his love for Hitler and claiming he's a Nazi. By Sunday, Travis Scott, Musk and others unfollowed Ye before he littered his timeline with pornographic videos.
"I'm logging off Twitter," Ye said in his final post. "I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board. It was like an Ayahuasca trip. Love all of you who gave me your energy and attention."
"Given what he has posted, his account is now classified as NSFW," Musk posted afterward. "You should not be seeing that anymore."
The Chicago rapper definitely had everyone's attention. In addition to posting adult content to his account, Ye angered fans by using a scene from Diddy's infamous video of him beating Cassie to sell the sweater the singer was wearing in the footage. He also defended his wife Bianca Censori's decision to wear a see-through outfit to the Grammys and claimed he wanted to help Kodak Black after seeing a disparaging video of him. All of this happened before he aired a commercial during the Super Bowl, in which he directs fans to his Yeezy website while sitting in a chair at his dentist's office.
"I spent all the money for the commercial on these new teeth,' West said. "So, once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone."
Ye initially claimed he simply expressing himself freely now that he's not bound by the corporate partnerships which previously cut ties with him over his controversial views. However, as his outrageous posts continued into Super Bowl Weekend, people like Charlamagne Tha God believed he was only trying to steal the attention away from Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl performance.
