The man accused of attempting to assassinate President Trump in West Palm Beach was back in a federal courtroom yesterday.
Judge Aileen Cannon heard arguments from attorneys for Ryan Routh in Fort Pierce on whether they will be allowed to have an independent weapons expert do an analysis to find out whether the AK-47 Routh allegedly poked through a fence at Trump International last September would have fired and if it did, whether the distance of a bullet fired from it would have been sufficient to hit then-candidate Trump.
Prosecutors told the judge the gun fired successfully when it was tested at the scene. No decision was made.
According to a report from Fox News, when asked in court yesterday how his day was going, Routh said it was "lovely."
The defense will get to view all of the evidence in the case next week when attorneys visit the FBI's South Florida field office in Miramar.
