This Fourth of July will look different for Diddy, who was recently denied bail after being convicted on two counts of transporting individuals for the purpose of prostitution.
On Wednesday (July 2), Diddy was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges, but found guilty on two lesser charges of transportation of former girlfriends for prostitution following his eight-week trial.
Judge Arun Subramanian denied Diddy bail, saying evidence from the trial shows he's exhibited a "yearslong pattern of violence."
The ruling means Diddy will remain in custody until his sentencing, which is currently set for October. On Friday (July 4), Diddy, who has previously celebrated Independence Day with champagne-filled, velvet-rope yacht parties, will spend the day in federal lockup as Inmate #37452-054 at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
Instead of rooftop fireworks and private chefs, Diddy is set to start his holiday morning at 6:00 am with cereal, fruit, milk, and breakfast cake, PEOPLE reports. At lunchtime, Diddy will have a choice between a hamburger or a bean burger with two hot dogs or soy dogs. Mac and cheese will also be offered in a rare moment of comfort food familiarity. Dinner will include options like baked fish, black beans, buttered noodles, mixed vegetables, juice, and two slices of wheat bread.
Diddy will also have access to the holiday recreation, such as Spades card games, dominos, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and a soccer match in the yard.
The music mogul is facing a maximum of 20 years behind bars. However, the prosecution is recommending a sentencing of at least 51 to 63 months. Diddy's lawyers are asking for a term of 21 to 27 months.
